About Konnecto flooring in Scotdale.  The pro's and con's, pricing, and how it stands up in comparison to similar products.

Konnecto flooring in Scotdale, as the name indicates, is a flooring system that floats and connects to each other with adhesive.  It can be put over top of any existing floor because it does not have an adhesive on the bottom of the planks.  Therefore it simply floats on top of an existing floor.  It comes in a plethora of shades and colors.  Konnecto gives the illusion of a real hardwood, tile, or stone floor.  Maintenance is practically non existent.  It is cleaned with warm water and a non abrasive cleanser.  It is suggested to put furniture pads under neath heavy appliances and other large furniture to reduce dents.  It is not recommended for outside areas or other areas where the moisture and temperature cannot be controlled.  The thing about Konnecto that makes it so desirable is the price.  It is just as inexpensive as the famed Allure flooring systems are.  Unfortunately, Konnecto will never be as popular for several reasons.

Right now, Konnecto does not have a good reputation.  First of all, the warranty does not even compare to that of others.  They claim to have a 25 year warranty, however that simply depends on the type of flooring that is purchased.  Most of the Konnecto floors only come with a maximum of 12 years and some even less than 5 for residential installations.  One other reason it is not so popular is because a 250lb. roller is suggested for proper and optimum installation.  With other popular floors of this ilk no special tools or rolling skills are necessary.  Also, if the product does not take or the seams split, returning it has proven to be a hassle as a basic internet search will render.

This is not to say that Konnecto is a bad choice because there are some positives.  Konnecto is very cheap and some product lines can be found on sale for $1.03 per square foot.  Also, unlike with Allure or other popular brands in Scotdale, Konnecto only needs to acclimate for 48 hours as opposed to two weeks.  It is waterproof and stain resistant which is a great benefit.  As well, it comes in many flavors and can be found at big box stores or other flooring companies.  It can even be purchased online at favored shopping sites.  This flooring system is extremely durable and will typically last at least 15 years which extends the original warranty claim.  The best part is Konnecto does not release any VOC's which explains the short acclimation time.  Absent of these harmful fumes means it is more eco-friendly.
